Default Chart September 2011
We’ve already spent over a week in September of 2011, so it’s about time for this month’s Default Chart. As always, it features those EP’s or tracks we feel you can’t miss out on.
Chart September 2011
Andres Zacco – Dextre (Conforce Remix)
Latest release on Traut Muzik, featuring an awesome remix from one of our favourite producers, Conforce. Dragging, gritty funk.
Raeyk – Asleep (Samuli Kemppi Remix)
Finnish producer Samuli Kemppi hits the nail on the head with this rework of Raeyk’s Asleep. For a full review see here.
Martyn – Ghost People
Washington based Dutch producer Martyn releases his sophomore album on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label. Showcasing his talent at effortlessly merging influences from house, techno and dubstep he delivers a strong and aggressive follow-up record. Full feature with interview and review will be online in our ‘by Default‘ section soon.
Bill Youngman – HH3
Strong new release from Bill Youngman; two diverse, interesting original tracks come combined with a stunning remix from Sandwell District. Killer!
Unknown – Unbroken Dubs
Mysterious new release, likely to have come from the Analogue Solutions camp, but we can’t know for sure. Deep, warm grooves make this an ideal soundtrack to approaching autumn.
Basic Soul Unit – Soulspeak
Spacey, bleepy, pumping and stomping EP featuring a devastating remix from Shed. Simply amazing, words can’t do it justice.
Cosmin TRG – Simulat
Highly anticipated album from Romanian Cosmin TRG which marks his definite move from D&B and dubstep into the crossover realm of techno. Full review soon.
Marcel Dettmann – Translation EP
Upcoming new four-track EP on Ostgut Ton. Long-awaited new original Dettmann material. Bomb!
Pfirter & Hans Bouffmyhre – Demon Within (Pfirter Remix)
Interesting new collab between Pfirter and Sleaze labelboss Bouffmyhre. Pfirter’s dark and throbbing remix is our pick.
Manuel Pisu – My Identity (Mikael Pfeiffer Remix)
Special tip from Kaj. Dark, brooding, driving techno from Mikael Pfeiffer. Compulsory for all those who enjoy the work from guys like Audio Injection and Pfirter.

Agenda
Rush Hour – 23/09/11 – Trouw - Amsterdam
Skudge live, KiNK live and Tom Trago in probably the best venue around right now. Can’t miss!
Rush Hour – 24/09/11 – Doornroosje – Nijmegen
If you did somehow miss it at Trouw, you’ll get a second chance here. Skudge and KiNK, but Cosmin TRG joins in to complete the package. Perhaps even better, considering Roosje is a lovely venue indeed? That’s up to you to decide.
TodaysArt – 23 & 24/09/11 – Den Haag
Lovely festival with performances by among others Delta Funktionen, Ancient Methods, Peter van Hoesen and many more. Also features numerous expositions and concerts. Worth checking out!
UFO x Off Centre – 01/10/11 – Westerunie – Amsterdam
James Ruskin, Robert Hood and Sandwell District all on one evening. Need we say more?
ADE: Ostgut Ton – 23/10/11 – MC Theater - Amsterdam
From Sunday at three in the afternoon until five o’clock Monday morning dancing to the Berlin sounds of Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Marcel Fengler and Planetary Assault Systems. It’s simply not going to get any better than this, period. Second room hosted by the guys from Dekmantel, organisers of the party.
